The Repair Workshop

For more than 115 years, repairing footwear has been part of Wrenchs. Not an add-on, but part of the craft our business was built on.

From Harry Wrench's original boot-making workshop in 1910 to our repair workshop today, we've continued the tradition of caring for good footwear and keeping it in service for longer.

A Craft That's Been Here Since 1910

Long before Wrench's sold shoes off the shelf, we were making them by hand and mending them just as carefully.
When Harry Wrench opened his boot-making shop on Graham Street in 1910, a good pair of boots wasn't something you replaced at the first sign of wear. You looked after them. You resoled them, restitched them and kept them going.
That philosophy never left us. Some of the original boot-making equipment and patterns from Harry's day are still used in our workshop today, a small but tangible link between the boots he made for Wonthaggi's miners and the footwear we repair for our community today.
Five generations later, the repair workshop remains an important part of Wrenchs. The tools may have changed, but the principle hasn't: good footwear is worth looking after.
